To my Dear Nona

KITI,

I will miss you infinitely, and you will forever remain in my heart as my beloved grandmother.

I am so sorry I never took the opportunity to tell you how much of a valuable imprint you have made on my life and how much I love you.

My favourite memory with you comes from this summer, when you and I were swimming together in my pool, recounting my upcoming travels and your travels to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

You had seen such a historical moment, two megacities coming alive. It was amazing to hear about your experiences, and it was so beautiful to see how animated you became whenever you spoke about travelling. I wish that you were able to go on your Japan trip that you dreamed of, even when you were in hospital, so that you could tell me all about it.  

I mourn not only you, but all of the adventures we should have gone on together, all of the places we could have visited and all of the memories you were unable to share.
